UDI Statement on the New Municipal Affairs and Housing Minister Hon. Selina Robinson Appointed to Premier John Horgan’s Cabinet

UDI looks forward to working with the Hon. Selina Robinson in building communities that include affordable housing where it’s needed most and helping municipalities develop tools and processes to get housing built faster to meet the local demand. Combining both the housing and municipal affairs ministries made good sense.
The new Minister brings a unique grasp of how housing and business are interdependent. Business growth relies on recruiting and retaining employees. But employees have challenges finding an affordable place to live in Metro Vancouver.
Her involvement with the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce will undoubtedly provide helpful insight on this issue.
