REFBC Land Awards 2016
Every two years, REFBC hosts the Land Awards Gala, where we recognize innovation, leadership and collaboration in sustainable land use. The Foundation presents three Land Awards – one each to a public, private and non-profit organization – and one Land Champion award, to an individual. These awards celebrate the bright ideas and energetic leaders that help make BC one of the best places in the world to live. Nominations for the awards are open until May 30, 2016.
The Land Awards Gala will be held on Oct. 21, 2016, in Vancouver, BC. For more information on nominations, past winners, and the Land Awards gala, visit: www.refbc.com/land-awards
Celebrating “sustainable land use”
By “sustainable” we mean environmentally, socially and economically sustainable. “Land use” is a broad term and could include: land planning, watershed governance, green building, housing, finance, policy and advocacy, sustainable agriculture, ecological conservation, public spaces, and community infrastructure. When presenting the awards, our judges are looking for individuals and projects that have demonstrated leadership, innovation and collaboration.
